What we make and for whom

PT Hookah Coals Charcoal Indonesia manufactures coconut shell charcoal briquettes for shisha and hookah, also sold as shisha charcoal and hookah coals. The briquettes are carbonized coconut shell bound with tapioca starch. We do not make wood charcoal, BBQ charcoal, quick-light coals or activated carbon.

We have operated a factory in Semarang, Central Java, since 2017, with a capacity of 250 tons per month. We ship to Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq, Kuwait, Turkey, the USA, Germany, Russia and other markets. We sell wholesale only, with a minimum order of one full 20' or 40' container, and every order is packed under the buyer's own private label.

Ready stock, not made-to-order

Finished charcoal is held in ready stock in our Semarang warehouse, so there is no production queue for your order. Printing your branded boxes and cartons is the only wait, typically 2–3 weeks.

Before you pay the 50% balance, you can visit Semarang and inspect the stock allocated to your container.

Sizes and shapes

Cubes are made in six sizes from 20 mm to 28 mm. Flat, hexagonal and stick shapes are pressed to the dimensions you specify. Pieces per kg below are for cubes; for other shapes they depend on the size you choose.

Your brand, our factory

Every container leaves under the buyer's brand. The process has four steps, and because the charcoal is already in stock, only the printing takes time.

1. 1. Brief

   You send box sizes, piece counts, carton format and your artwork or brand guidelines.

2. 2. Dieline

   We return print-ready dielines for each inner box and master carton for your approval.

3. 3. Branded sample

   We produce a branded sample for sign-off before the full print run.

4. 4. Container

   Printed packaging is filled from ready stock, inspected and loaded into your container.

Minimum print run is 5 t per design: up to 3 designs in a 20' container and 5 in a 40'.

Shipped as dangerous goods, done right

Coconut shell charcoal moves by sea as UN 1361 CARBON, Class 4.2, a self-heating substance. Since 1 January 2026, IMDG Code Amendment 42-24 makes dangerous goods declaration of charcoal mandatory for sea freight. Special Provision 978 sets the carriage conditions — weathering before packing, packing temperature and container headspace — and is not an exemption.
